Uniting MacArthur Park's Community Through Design
In designing for the Barrio Fino Series and the annual Summer Concert, I prioritized a visual language that resonated with primarily local Latino audience, ensuring all materials were bilingual. My design process involved deep community research, addressing pressing issues such as the harassment of street food vendors—a central concern within the neighborhood. Recognizing that MacArthur Park is more than a music venue—it's a community hub—I crafted graphics that not only promoted the events but also supported and reflected the community’s spirit. This approach fostered a strong visual connection, contributing to a significant increase in turnout and highlighting the power of design in community solidarity.
